Custom domains and hosting

Give your website a custom domain.

A custom domain gives customers a consistent place to find your business. SYSTALOG lets you connect a name you already own, search for a new one, or start with an included SYSTALOG address. Build your site first; choose the address when the content is ready.

01

Start with a name customers can remember

Use the business name customers already know when a suitable domain is available. Say it aloud, check the spelling on a phone, and think about how it looks in an email signature. A short, clear name is more useful than a long string of service and location keywords.

Search the exact domain in the builder and review its availability and annual price. Similar-looking names may belong to another business, so check for confusion before purchasing. Registering a domain does not establish trademark rights or guarantee that a name is appropriate for your business.

02

Connect a domain you already own

Choose the existing-domain option and follow the DNS instructions supplied for your website. SYSTALOG does not charge a separate connection fee. You keep the registrar account and continue paying that registrar for renewals; website hosting remains $20 per month.

Before changing DNS, identify any email or other services using that domain. Preserve the records those services need. Verify the new website address and HTTPS after the connection is complete. If you are unsure which record to change, ask support with the domain name and the instructions you received.

03

Buy a new name through the website workflow

A new domain has its own annual registration charge, displayed before checkout. The website plan is a separate monthly charge. Read both amounts, confirm the spelling, and make sure your business can receive account and renewal notices before proceeding.

Registration and connection involve the registrar and DNS as well as the website itself. A successful draft save is not proof that the address is live. Check the domain status in your portal, finish any required setup, and open the public address after publication to verify the result.

04

Keep one preferred public address

Your search settings use the connected domain or the included SYSTALOG address as the preferred URL. Share that address consistently in your business profiles, social accounts, printed materials, and customer replies. The public sitemap becomes available after your site is published.

If you replace an existing website, make a list of its important URLs before switching. A single-page template cannot automatically reproduce a large site with many service pages. Ask the studio to scope any migration and redirects you need so customers and search engines can still find the relevant information.
