Multi-cert per dog
Each K9 holds as many certification types as needed. Track them all independently with separate expiry dates and renewal windows.
Renewal warnings
Set how many days ahead a renewal warning appears for each certification type, so a supervisor can schedule the test in time.
Certification history
Past and lapsed certifications stay on the dog's profile, and the audit trail shows who changed what and when.
Monthly requirements
Set monthly minimums for each certification type (training hours, sessions, finds per odor) and see which dogs are behind before the test.

Role-gated updates

K9 certification tracking FAQ
How many certification types can one K9 hold?
As many as your program uses. A dual-purpose dog can hold narcotics, patrol, and tracking certifications at the same time, each with its own test date, evaluator, and expiry.
What information is captured per certification record?
Each certification records the type, issue date, expiry date, evaluator, test location, conditions, and notes. Changes appear in the audit trail with the user and time.
Can I track lapsed or expired certifications?
Yes. Expired certifications remain in the dog's profile with a clear "Expired" status. The history is preserved and can be included in compliance exports. You can also log recertification against the same record.
How do renewal alerts work?
Each certification type has a warning window you set, in days. Certifications inside that window appear on the dashboard for supervisors and admins, and the certification report shows every dog's status. K9Codex does not send email or text reminders today.
Can this support agency-specific compliance reporting?
K9Codex records the core certification fields and exports them as PDF or CSV for your agency reporting. Your agency or certifying body decides what the report must contain; K9Codex does not certify a dog.
What happens when a certification expires?
The dog's profile and the certification report show it as expired once the expiry date passes. Record the recertification test when it happens and the dog shows as current again.
